Government, Industry and more recently the media, are identifying a severe skills gap in the information security and assurance fields. For those wishing to move into these roles the career path to becoming an information security professional can seem bewildering and daunting. This talk will examine not only the current training and certification offerings available in the UK, but also take a look at what skills we are promoting and discuss if this is a workable strategy.
Campbell Murray is the Technical Director of Encription Limited, a CESG penetration testing, forensics and training company based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Formerly a founding director of the TigerScheme and now a founding director of The CyberScheme, Campbell has been instrumental in creating technical standards for UK Government cyber security roles and has over 16 years’ experience in the penetration testing and research fields.
